MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW
Mr. Harris asked the Planning Commission to consider the initiating
of a rezoning of a piece of property in the Stoneridge Area. He
explained there are three ways to initiate the zoning; 1) application
of the property owner; 2) application of City Council; and 3) appli-
cation of the Planning Commission. He explained that some of the
property owned by Stoneson located on the south side of Stoneridge,
between Springdale and Foothill has been considered RM-2500, and
that while recently doing some research in all of the rezoning it
was found a portion of this property had never been officially rezoned
in that it never got to City Council. He stated this occurred in
1968 or 1969.
He further stated that the eastern one-third of the property is
zoned R-1-6500 and that the property in question should have been
considered for rezoning to RM-2500 by the City Council but evidently
wasn't submitted to them and that the property owner shouldn't be
asked to initiate the rezoning and pay the rezoning fee. Mr. Harris
stated that the Planning Commission, by Resolution could initiate
this zoning request.
Commission asked how many acres were involved and Mr. Harris stated
there is roughly 10 acres totally involved and approximately 3 acres
would be involved in the initiation for rezoning.
Commissioner Wilson made a motion for
request and the motion was seconded by
No. 1717 was then entered and adopted.
the Commission to initiate this
Commissioner Getty.
