MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />March 14, 1979 <br />8:00 P.M. <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The regular meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at <br />8:23 P,M. by Chairman Jamieson. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Commissioners Present: Gregg Doherty, Ken Leppert, Joyce Getty, <br />DeWitt Wilson and Chairman Bill Jamieson <br />Commissioners Absent: None <br />Staff Members Present: Robert J. Harris, Director of Planning and <br />Community Development; Joe Hill, Fire Chief; <br />Alan Campbell, Director of Public Works; <br />Harvey Levine, City Attorney; and Shirley <br />McDougall,'°~ecording Secretary <br />Council Member Present: Frank Brandes, Jr., Mayor <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the March 6, 1979, meeting were not yet available for <br />review and approval. <br />MEETING OPEN FOR MEMBERS OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />No one spoke. <br />REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Mr. Harris stated he had an addition (7a) concerning exemption of a Parcel <br />Map for the Burger King site at I-580 near Johnson Drive. <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />Commissioner Gregg Doherty state at with regard to solar panels, they <br />are aesthetically poor and the staff should work toward establishing a <br />policy with regard to them. Mr. Harris stated these are addressed under <br />RAP but that the staff can make a further review. <br />Commissioner DeWitt Wilson addressed small autos using two parking spaces <br />and there should be an ordinance to ticket those cars especially when <br />parking in Pleasanton is generally poor. Chairman Bill Jamieson stated <br />a letter could be directed to the Police Department concerning this subject. <br />Chairman Jamieson stated he was changing the agenda around to allow for <br />cases which had a large audience attendance to be heard first. <br />UP-79-5, Dawn Jaye <br />Application of Dawn Jaye's Charm Farm for a conditional use permit to allow <br />the operation of a private school teaching grooming, poise and etiquette at <br />1811 Santa Rita Road. The site is zoned PUD-0 (Planned Unit Development- <br />Office Uses) District. <br />Mr. Harris explained the staff report and their recommendation of approval <br />subject to the conditions shown on the staff report. <br />
