concerns with moderate cost housing in Pleasanton, however. He stated the
Chamber of Commerce urges the Planning Commission and City Council to find
a way of providing this, but that they do understand the problem of
the encroachment of homes on the industrial area and hopes that the
business park as proposed will be approved.
The public hearing was closed.
Commissioners' Comments
Commissioner Jamieson had no comments.
Commissioner Wilson stated that at the November 14, 1979 Planning Com-
mission meeting he merely suggested that perhaps a Mobile Home Park be
considered by the developer and did not mean for the confusion which
followed concerning low cost housing, etc. to become an issue. He
stated, however, that John Caroline attempted to offer housing in
accordance with the above suggestion. Commissioner Wilson stated he
is very sorry that the entire matter got started. He further stated he
is in favor of denying this request for a general plan amendment.
Commissioner Getty stated she had no comments.
Commissioner Leppert stated he is not in favor of combining residential
and industrial/commercial.
Chairperson Doherty stated there is a need for multiple and single-
family housing (subsidized or not), but that he supports his colleagues
in their thoughts. He further stated that the PUD application would
be considered at the regular December 12, 1979 Planning Commission
meeting.
A motion was then made by Commissioner Geppert, seconded by Commissioner
Getty that GP-79-25 be recommended for denial.
Roll Call Vote
Ayes: Commissioners Geppert, Getty, Jamieson, Wilson and Chairperson
Doherty
Noes: None
Absent: None
Resolution No. 1829 was then entered and adopted recommending denial of
case GP-79-25.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:15 P.M.
~~G~''~Y
Robert J.
