MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETIPdG <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />December 11, 1979 <br />Alameda County Fairgrounds <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 5:35 P.M. by Chairperson Gregg Doherty. <br />Commissioners Present: Ken Leppert, Joyce Getty, Bill Jamieson <br />DeWitt Wilson and Chairperson Gregg Doherty <br />Staff Members Present: Robert Harris, Director of Planning and <br />Community Development; Harvey Levine, City <br />Attorney; and Shirley McDougall, Recording <br />Secretary <br />Councilmember Present: Walt Wood, Liaison <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />No minutes were presented for approval. <br />MEETIPdG OPEN FOR MEMBERS OF TIIE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE COMMISSION <br />No one addressed the Commission. <br />REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />There were none. <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY THE COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />There were none. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />There was none. <br />NEW BUSINESS - Public Hearings <br />GP-79-25, John and Joan Caroline <br />Application o John and Joan Caroline for a general plan amendment which <br />would comprehensively change the land use designation of a 69 acre site <br />located on the south side of Valley Avenue and immediately easterly of <br />the residences along Kolln Street from "General and Limited Industrial" <br />to "General and Limited Industrial/Commercial and Offices/Medium and/or <br />High Density Residential." An environmental impact report will also be <br />considered. <br />Mr. Harris presented the staff report and recommendation. <br />Commissioner Wilson stated that the EIR shows a detailed soils report <br />should be required before grading begins on the site and suggested that <br />perhaps a soils report should be given to the Planning Commission before <br />they consider the EIR.
