The property is zoned C-S (Com-
merical-Service) District.
Mr. Harris explained the staff report and their recommendation of
approval. He stated that staff feels findings can be made on all of
the items except for the five listed on the staff report of November 14,
1979.
Commissioner Leppert referred to the elimination of Sheet Metal Shops
and asked if Heating and Air Conditioning would be allowed as this is
also considered sheet metal work. Commissioner Leppert also asked
what was included in Household Repair Shops. Mr. Harris stated that
Commissioner Leppert had a good point concerning the sheet metal and
heating and air conditioning and that concerning Household Repair shop
that was usually the category for exterminating businesses.
Commissioner Jamieson asked how often blanket conditional use permits
have been allowed for similar requests. Mr. Harris responded he
thought it was about four times but that in those instances it was
for one category for a particular site and not for many different
categories.
Commissioner Wilson stated that the uses requested, if conditionally
allowed, it would cut down on the paper work and time of the Commission
to grant various approvals.
The public hearing was opened.
Mr. Cannessa, 3796 Pinot Court, the applicant, spoke stating he
requested all of these uses at the recommendation of the Planning
staff and that approval would be helpful in signing up tenants and
would allow him flexibility. He said he would be happy to eliminate
the word "sales" from the categories and just have "services." He
stated he would like Motorcycle Service, RV Service and Sheet Metal
included. He stated there is a definite need for RV Service in
Pleasanton.
The public hearing was closed.
- 2-
_.. _.r.__,.. _ . _ .._ _ _. _.._ _. _ , _ . ___ . ... _ __ , ...___ __ .__ _._
