RZ-80-6, City Council <br />Application of the City Council of the City of Pleasanton to add <br />Section 2-5.33, Article 2 and amend Section 2-7.21, Article 9, <br />Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton <br />and to add or amend other sections of the code as necessary to <br />regulate land uses involving radioactive materials. <br />Mr. Harris explained the staff report. <br />Commissioner Getty asked what effect this ordinance would have on <br />existing businesses. <br />Mr. Harris explained. <br />Chairperson Doherty stated there are medical uses for which certain <br />materials of this nature can be used -- doctors offices, etc. Mr. Harris <br />explained that the ordinance covers uses which come under Federal <br />guidelines and licensing. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Jamieson, seconded by Commissioner <br />Getty that RZ-80-6 be recommended for approval. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />Ayes: Commissioners Getty, Jamieson, Lindsey and Chairperson Doherty <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: Commissioner Wilson <br />Resolution No. 1874 was then entered and adopted recommending approval <br />of RZ-80-6. <br />UP-80-9, Bette Ann T rrell <br />App ication o Bette Ann Tyrrell for a conditional use permit which <br />would allow a day care center to be operated at her residence which is <br />located at 1776 Harvest Road. The property is zoned R-1-6500 (Single- <br />family Residential) District. <br />Commissioner Lindsey abstained from this case inasmuch as his child <br />currently attends the day care facility described in this application. <br />Mr. Harris reviewed the staff report and subsequent recommendation of <br />approval. He stated however that there is a code violation because <br />the Tyrrells have enclosed their garage making a rumpus-type room out <br />of it. He stated this code violation would have to be corrected prior <br />to the Commission approving the use permit.
