Jim Quinn, 3864 West Las Positas spoke stating he agrees with Mr. Oakes
concerning the six units to be reduced in cost. Mr. Quinn then asked
if this area is a PUD now, why does the zoning have to be changed to
a PUD again. Mr. Harris explained the property in question is not
zoned PUD but rather PUD is a concept as referred to in years past.
Mr. Harris stated the ordinance was different at the commencement
of the original development.
Leon C. Collett, 4290 Fairlands Drive spoke in opposition to this
development because he would prefer the units be single-family
because of traffic considerations. Ms. Lynn Persky whose fence would
back up to the project asked that the application be explained. Chair-
person Doherty explained the rezoning and development approval appli-
cation. Ms. Persky stated the traffic is bad now and will be worse
with the proposed development. She sited 7 school buses and others
congesting the area at the present time.
Lillian Collett, 4290 Fairlands Drive spoke in opposition to this
project and the fact that they were told when they bought the property
there would be a church on the property shown in the application and
addressed people currently turning in the median to cross the street.
Joe Dalman, 3184 Weymouth Court, addressed the 44 separate dwelling
units. He asked the selling price of the smallest unit. Mr. Oakes
stated they would be in the $80-90,000 area, based on the information
he now had.
Mr. Quinn spoke again stating he agrees with Mr. Oakes that he doesn't
want any of the units to be reduced in price for low/moderate income
people.
Zenos McPeak, 4294 Churchill, stated he has heard all of the testimony
and concern given at the public hearings tonight and was glad about
the concerns given to signs on Main Street and the aesthetics of the
area. He asked that the same consideration be made for this develop-
ment. He spoke in opposition to this project.
Leon Wolf, 3080 West Las Positas, stated currently people, other than
members, use the cabana club and he did not want to add to this
situation.
Marty Pearson, 3962 Fairlands, stated he didn't want to have a $60,000
unit next to a $100,000+ house regarding reduced cost of units as
discussed earlier.
Mr. Oakes spoke again and said they had been unsuccessful in getting
any church to want to build on the site.
-11-
__.... _ _ _ .. __ . .r. _._ ._ . __ -_ - . _.... _. . , _. _ .. _ r. _ _ .
