MINUTES <br />SPECIAL PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING JULY 16, 1980 <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS <br />7:30pm <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairperson De[~litt Wilson at 7:30pm. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Comm issiomm oners Present: Gregg Doherty, Joyce Getty, Bill Jamieson, <br />Larry Lindsey and Chairperson DeWitt GJilson <br />Commissioners Absent: None <br />Staff Present: Robert J. Harris, Director of Planning and <br />Community Development; Richard Glenn, <br />Assistant Planner, Tom Passanisi, Planning <br />Analyst and Shirley McDougall, Recording <br />Secretary <br />Council Member Present: Karin Mohr <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />There were no TMhnutes submitted for approval. <br />MEETING OPEN-FOR ANY MED4BER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE PLANNING <br />CONIMI S S I ON <br />No one addressed the Commission. <br />REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />There were none. <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY THE COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />There were none. <br />MATTE RS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW <br />Consideration of a request to initiate an amendment to the Ordinance <br />Code of the City of Pleasanton to allow hardware stores in the C-N <br />(neighborhood Commercial) District. <br />Chairperson Wilson stated that this matter was held over from the <br />July 9, 1980 meeting for a full Commission. <br />Mr. Harris explained the request stating the reason staff recommends <br />denial is not because they object to hardware stores in the neighborhood <br />shopping centers but rather because it does not meet the Special <br />Purpose of the C-N District as described in the Ordinance Code and if <br />distinctions in the Commercial Districts are ignored, there would be <br />no purpose in having several districts. <br />-1- <br />_..-__._..T.__..~__.. ,._ .. __.. _ .__y~._.. ._._,._ ....,._ ___ ,- <br />
