She addressed the possibility of the trucks hauling the
clothing having an accident. Trudy Warnow, Walnut Drive, spoke and
stated the proposed expansion has opened a hornet's nest and said
she was well aware of the effects of cancer having had cancer surgery
herself, husband passed away because of it and a friend's family has
dealt with it. He stated he has been with the nuclear weapons industry
for 29 years as an administrator and familiar with the safeguards taken
and would agree with Dr. Cornfeld that standards have changed and
tolerances are uncertain. He stated he would be reluctant to have
Interstate pack up their bags and go and doesn't believe that would be
the answer and had reservations as to what an EIR would really tell
them as it wouldn't say if there was really a problem on the City's
hands or not and would like the applicant if he would be interested in
having his health physicist address the Commission.
