A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Commissioner
Lindsey that the property described in Item 15 remain High Density
Residential.
Motion: Commissioner Doherty
Second: Commissioner Lindsey
Ayes: Commissioner Doherty, Lindsey and Chairperson Wilson
Noes: Commissioner Getty
Absent: Commissioner Jamieson
Items 16 and 17: Commissioner Lindsey spoke to concerns with traffic
concerning the proposed change to the Deetz property but stated it
would probably be remedied after the Peters Avenue extension is
completed. Mr. Harris stated this depends on whether or not the
property is changed to high density and rezoned RM -- it is a border-
line case. Commissioner Lindsey stated traffic is at the maximum
right now. Commissioner Getty pointed out that Peters Avenury traffic
patterns are changing.
Commissioner Lindsey made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Getty
that Items 16 and 17 be recommended for approval as recommended by
the Land Use Committee.
Motion: Commissioner Lindsey
Second: Commissioner Getty
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Lindsey and Chairperson Wilson
Noes: None
Absent: Commissioner Jamieson
Item 18: A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Com-
mismis o er Lindsey that the recommendation of the Land Use Committee
be approved.
Motion: Commissioner Doherty
Second: Commissioner Lindsey
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Lindsey and Chairperson Wilson
Noes: None
Absent: Commissioner Jamieson
Item 19: Commissioner Getty expressed her view that the Urbanization
Line should be eliminated. Chairperson Wilson stated that perhaps
the matter should go before City Council to take this matter into
consideration for further review stating that he would like to know
whether or not a piece of property which he bought would be inside or
outside of the Urbanization Line. Commissioner-Getty stated she
would like to know who knows where it should be and that the people
who originally established the Urbanization Line did the right thing
and helped the City. But, at this time the matter is highly question-
able. Chairperson Wilson stated perhaps the Urbanization Line should
be the City limits. Commissioner Getty stated she thought that
might be a good idea. Commissioner Doherty addressed problems with
the Urbanization Line and sphere of influence stating the City limit
line is fine and doesn't believe we need the Urbanization Line.
-14-
