MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Alameda County Fairgrounds <br />Pleasanton, California <br />Wednesday, October 8, 1980 <br />8:00 P.M. <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:55 P.M. by Chairperson DeWitt Wilson. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Commissioners Present: Gregg Doherty, Joyce Getty, Bill Jamieson, <br />Larry Lindsey and Chairperson DeWitt Wilson <br />Commissioners Absent: None <br />Staff Members Present: Robert L. Warnick, Director of Public Works <br />and Utilities; Robert J. Harris, Director <br />of Planning and Community Development; and <br />Shirley McDougall, Recording Secretary <br />Council Members Present: Karin Mohr <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Commissioner Doherty stated the fourth paragraph from the bottom <br />on Page 5 should now read "Commissioner Doherty empathized with the <br />Gatetree and Del Valle Parkway residents and indicated that eight <br />single-family units might blend in better wit t e neighborhood but <br />would like to hear what the applicant has to say concerning medium <br />density." With this change it was motioned by Commissioner Lindsey, <br />seconded by Commissioner Doherty that the Minutes of the 9/10/80 <br />meeting stand approved as changed. This motion was carried. <br />MEETING OPEN FOR MEMBERS OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE COMMISSION <br />No one addressed the Commission. <br />REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />There were none. <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY THE COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />Commissioner Getty asked a out the tires at the gas station at 44 Mission <br />Drive. Mr. Harris stated a letter is being prepared asking them to <br />remove them immediately. <br />Commissioner Getty stated that with the amount of variances requried <br />the City should start looking at the code requirements for houses. <br />Mr. Harris stated that while there were two requests at the Board <br />of Adjustment meeting of 10/8/80, there really aren't many overall <br />requests coming in at this time. He stated there are only one or <br />two variance requests received per month and all of them are not for <br />setbacks for room additions. He stated that if we get to a point <br />where people can't move and need larger houses and therefore, desire <br />to expand the houses then perhaps the code should ~e changed. <br />U <br />
