Mr. Harris explained the General Plan designation. Chairperson
Wilson stated he also agrees with Commissioner Doherty with regard
to the 2-1/2 acre parcels.
Commissioner Getty inquired about the slope of the Martin land.
Mr. Harris stated that most of his property is shown as low density.
He stated that regarding larger areas there is a lack of utilities
at this time and the more you add the greater the traffic would be
on Vineyard Avenue.
Chairperson Wilson stated he believes the reason the County selected
90 acres is that it fronts on Vineyard and the other property faces
Crellin and that is one of the reasons they selected the 90 acres.
A motion was made by Commissioner Jamieson, seconded by Commissioner
Getty that the size of the lots be 2-1/2 acres or more in size (this
to pertain to the 90 acres only).
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty,
Chairperson Wilson
Noes: None
Getty, Jamieson, Lindsey and
A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty to recommend to Council that
the lands north of Vineyard specified on Map 8, Bates, Ulrich and
Miller properties be considered as possible sites for affordable
homes, namely, modular or mobile home park at some appropriate future
date and that it would be the logical site inasmuch as it is already
located in the vicinity of the currently mobile home site. This
motion was seconded by Commissioner Lindsey.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty,
Chairperson Wilson
Noes: None
Getty, Jamieson, Lindsey and
MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S INFORMATION
Mr. Harris suggested that the Planning Commission go out and walk the
Laidley property before it is considered at the next Planning Commission
meeting just as was done with the Long and Boatright sites. Commissioner
Doherty stated it would also be a good time to walk 1584 Foothill Road.
Chairperson Wilson stated he is available on Saturdays. It was also
suggested that 7:30 A.M. would be a good time.
Commissioner Doherty addressed signs for the waterbed business on
Santa Rita Road and portable signs on Stanley Boulevard for Big "O"
Tires. Commissioner Doherty also said there is a camper shell parked
in the middle of a cul-de-sac in the Heritage Valley area and asked
Mr. Harris to look into it.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:30 P.M.
,~ ~2~
Robert J. Harris, Secretary
-8-
