Commissioner Jamieson asked which lots would be affected and Mr.
Fairfield answered that they would be Lots 1 through 8, 48 and 49
most likely.
Mr. Stonage again addressed traffic concerns of the area and felt
that the applicant and City did not have a clear picture of the actual
problems of the area concerning traffic.
Judy Jackson, 6140 Amber Lane, suggested that the Commission physically
review the area before a decision is made inasmuch as Amber Lane is
20 ft. wide.
Mr. Warnick stated he has no problem with the requests made by Mr.
Fairfield except that in his opinion vertical curbs are better. He
said that with regard to park dedication of Lots 12 and 13 it is his
understanding there are limited funds available for maintenance and
was afraid that the City would be taking on more responsibility than
it was preapred for and the Parks and Recreation Commission as well as
the City Council have not indicated there is more need for parks.
Chairperson Wilson said he agrees with Mr. Fairfield not to have
vertical curbs, but does agree that with rolled curbs, rocks, etc.
pop on lawns. He said for the area rolled curbs would be nice but
supports Mr. Warnick's concerns with this regard. Commissioner Getty
stated she agrees about the problems with rolled curbs.
Commissioner Jamieson urged the consideration of reserving land for
parks.
Commissioner Jamieson agrees with the new wording proposed on Conditions
9, 27, 10 and 11 - he doesn't object to vertical curbs.
Mr. Fairfield stated he would agree that rolled curbs are sometimes
not favorable, particularly where there is a sidewalk with children
playing on it, but said this is not the case with this project.
Chairperson Wilson, Commissioners Getty and Jamieson agreed that
relating to Condition No. 10 they can get along without sidewalks.
Chairperson Wilson stated that the property owners would be aware of
the type of curbing when they purchase the lots. Commissioner Getty
stated she hoped people wouldn't have her experience regarding rolled
curbs and Commissioner Doherty supported this comment totally.
Mr. Fairfield said they would do whatever possible to get traffic to
use south Hamilton instead of Amber Lane short of erecting a barricade,
but that from Hamilton, north on Amber Lane he has no solution until
the property changes in character.
-4-
___ __. .__,.. _ .,_._...__._r......_.__..
