Dr. Pridemore asked when the grading would probably occur? Mr.
McCoy responded, it would probably be during the summer months.
A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Commissioner
Lindsey, that the elevations and site plans submitted by Centex be
approved subject to the three conditions of the staff report of
3/18/81, adding that
1. The applicant will execute the visual easements
and provide them to the City of Pleasanton, who
in turn will notify, by certified mail, all pro-
perty owners on Angela Street and Mirador Drive
whose property is contiguous to the development
that the visual easements are ready to be signed and
that they will have a period not to exceed 60 days
in which to do so.
2. That lot number 78 shall contain a single story
structure not to exceed 448'.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson, Lindsey and
Acting Chairperson Getty
Noes: None
Absent: Chairperson Wilson
Abstain: None
Resolution No. 1973 was then entered and adopted approving the
elevations and site plans for Centex as conditioned in their PUD.
Changes to RM standards in the Downtown Area.
Mr. Harris reviewed the staff report.
Commissioner Jamieson asked about condominium conversions in the
area. Mr. Harris said that until the City adopts a condominium
conversion ordinance there is no assurance that conversion will
not take place.
Commissioner Doherty asked about the boundaries included in the
exhibit attached to the staff report. Mr. Harris said tYiat to
eliminate certain properties could be spot zoning property and
this would be very difficult to control.
Commissioner Getty spoke to parking in the downtown area. She
stated she sees no reason to allow the reduction in the amount of
parking allotted in the downtown area for residential use; Ray
Street should probably be a one-way street. She said some people
on the south side of that street are getting upset because three
parking spaces were eliminated (marked in red) and none of the
commercial property owners in the neighborhood were notified. She
said people in the core area will park, shop and then eat and it
is incomprehensible to her why the variance was denied for the
Gay 90's.
Commissioner Getty then said Southern Pacific will probably employ
about 250 employees and will have about 245 parking spaces -
and asked if some of the employees couldn't use the Citizens
-4-
