and the Arroyo Mocho Canal on the north from "Medium Density Residential" <br />to "High Density Residential". The property is zoned "A" (Agricultural) <br />District. A negative declaration of environmental impacts was also <br />considered. <br />Mr. Harris presented the staff report. <br />Commissioner Jamieson asked if the multiple-single-family ratio would <br />increase with approval of this application. Mr. Harris said it would <br />but that very seldom does any high density have the full percentage of <br />multiples allowed. <br />Commissioner Wilson wanted to know the outcome of the Council decision <br />on the general plan amendments and whether or not any ground was lost <br />with relationship to proposed multiples. <br />Commissioner Wilson said he has no problem with 28~ vs 25~ multiples. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />Robert Hannon representing Mr. Corrie stated he concurs with the staff <br />report. <br />Dennis Hammett, owner of the property next to the project site stated Ye <br />was against the project because of traffic problems. He stated that <br />Longs Drug Store was turned down because of traffic. Commissioner Wilson <br />stated that the Commission didn't recommend denial because of traffic. <br />He said the City Council may have considered traffic, but that wasn't <br />the reason the Planning Commission recommended denial. <br />Commissioner Jamieson said he appreciates the feelings of Mr. Hammett <br />with regard to traffic concerns. <br />The attorney for Mr. Corrie answered questions posed by Commissioner <br />Jamieson concerning the cost of 'less expensive housing'. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />A motion was then made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Commissioner <br />Lindsey to recommend approval of the mitigated negative declaration pre- <br />pared for case GP-81-3 because all significant adverse environmental <br />impacts will be mitigated by the inclusion of conditions imposed on the <br />project. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />Ayes <br />Noes <br />Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson, Lindsey, Wilson <br />and Chairperson Getty <br />None <br />Resolution No. 2010 was then entered and adopted recommending approval <br />of the mitigated negative declaration prepared for case GP-81-3. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner Do- <br />herty that case GP-81-3 be recommended for approval. <br />-3- <br />_......_.., .._. .... , .,._.... _..„r...... _ ... __. _. _.... <br />" _....... ....__... .._.___. ... _.... ... ... __. .
