MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />Cafeteria at the <br />Alameda County Fairgrounds <br />Pleasanton Avenue <br />Thursday - November 12, 1981 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairperson Joyce Getty. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Commissioners Present: Gregg Doherty, Bill Jamieson, Larry Lindsey, <br />DeWitt Wilson and Chairperson Joyce Getty <br />Staff Members Present: Robert J. Harris, Director of Planning and <br />Community Development; Robert L. Warnick, <br />Director of Public Works and Utilities; <br />Brian W. Swift, Assistant City Attorney; and <br />Shirley McDougall, Recording Secretary <br />Council Member Present: Karin Mohr <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the 10/14/81 meeting were approved as submitted. <br />REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Mr. Harris reported that Item 6 d , PUD-81-22, Daon Corporation would <br />be continued until November 18, 1981, then continued to December 1, <br />1981 for a work session at an adjourned special meeting, then for <br />public hearing December 9, 1981. He also indicated there is a <br />sign proposal for 6111 Johnson Drive to be considered at this meeting, <br />and that Stoneson has asked that Tract 4588 be continued to December 9, <br />1981. <br />REPORT ON CITY COUNCIL ACTIONS <br />It was reported that the Mavridis appeal for variances at 276 Spring <br />Street was upheld and a request for design review approval would <br />be forthcoming. <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY THE COr~1MISSION MEPRBERS <br />Chairperson Getty said it is impossible to see when coming out of <br />Sycamore to Sunol during the day. She said the fencing there makes <br />it difficult to turn right. Mr. Warnick stated that the matter will <br />be looked into. <br />Chairperson Getty also stated she was disappointed that the Traffic <br />Committee did not respond affirmatively to Commissioner Jamieson's <br />request concerning the painting of the islands on Santa Rita Road. <br />Mr. Warnick stated that the Traffic Committee did not feel it was a <br />major problem. Chairperson Getty suggested that the road should be <br />looked at on a dark-rainy night such as this evening when you can't <br />see the islands. Commissioner Doherty concurred with these statements. <br />A roll call was taken and all five Commissioners requested that the <br />_ ~ --r-~.._ _ - __. _._ _ ..__... _ __. _.. _. __ ._ _.._ __ , <br />
