PLANNING COMMISSION 3/23/83 Page 5 Mike Harris, 6111 Johnson Drive, represented the application. He explained the proposed changes. Commissioner Jamieson expressed concern with the reduction of the number of two car garages. He said garages are needed, if not for vehicles for storage purposes. Mr. Harris explained that parking will actually be increased in their proposal. Commissioner Wilson addressed the number of units and parking. Mr. Harris clarified his proposal. Commissioner Wilson stated he felt the project was too dense to begin with. Mr. Harris felt that this proposed change would leave more open space. Chairperson Lindsey inquired about the project. Mr. Harris stated that originally this project was felt to be affordable housing and urged approval of their proposed changes. The public hearing was closed. Commissioner Jamieson indicated that should he purchase one of the units, he would be among the first to get a unit with a covered garage. Chairperson Lindsey said that Mr. Harris proposes a compromise in trade off concerning two story units and that the proposal might make the development more attractive. Commissioner Arrigoni asked that in going from two to one car garages if there was a conflict. Mr. Bob Harris indicated that in actuality they would be increasing the parking by six spaces. Commssioner Doherty said he had no problem with the modification. A motion was made by.Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Commissioner Arrigoni that AP-83-4 be approved as recommended in the staff report.
