PLANNING COMMISSION <br />3/23/83 <br />Page 5 <br />Mike Harris, 6111 Johnson Drive, represented the application. <br />He explained the proposed changes. <br />Commissioner Jamieson expressed concern with the reduction of <br />the number of two car garages. He said garages are needed, if <br />not for vehicles for storage purposes. <br />Mr. Harris explained that parking will actually be increased <br />in their proposal. <br />Commissioner Wilson addressed the number of units and parking. <br />Mr. Harris clarified his proposal. Commissioner Wilson stated <br />he felt the project was too dense to begin with. <br />Mr. Harris felt that this proposed change would leave more open <br />space. <br />Chairperson Lindsey inquired about the project. Mr. Harris <br />stated that originally this project was felt to be affordable <br />housing and urged approval of their proposed changes. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />Commissioner Jamieson indicated that should he purchase one of <br />the units, he would be among the first to get a unit with a <br />covered garage. <br />Chairperson Lindsey said that Mr. Harris proposes a compromise <br />in trade off concerning two story units and that the proposal <br />might make the development more attractive. <br />Commissioner Arrigoni asked that in going from two to one car <br />garages if there was a conflict. Mr. Bob Harris indicated that <br />in actuality they would be increasing the parking by six spaces. <br />Commssioner Doherty said he had no problem with the modification. <br />A motion was made by.Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Commissioner <br />Arrigoni that AP-83-4 be approved as recommended in the staff <br />report. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />AYES: Commissioners Arrigoni, Doherty, and Chairperson <br />Lindsey <br />NOES: Commissioners"Jamieson and Wilson <br />ABSENT: Commissioner Getty <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />Resolution No. 2285 was entered and adopted recommending approval <br />of the modifications to case PUD-81-32 as filed under case <br />AP-83-4. <br />
