Swift, Assistant <br />City Attorney; and Shirley McDougall, <br />Recording Secretary <br />Karin Mohr was observed in the audience <br />The Minutes of the 3/9/83 Planning Commission meeting were <br />approved as submitted. <br />MEETING OPEN FOR ANY TIMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE COMMISSION <br />ON ANY ITEM WHICH IS NOT ALREADY ON THE AGENDA <br />Tom Victor, 6820 Eden Street, Dublin, addressed the Commission <br />requesting that the Planning Commission initiate a change to <br />the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton to allow churches <br />in the various industrial districts. Mr. Victor explained that <br />he is representing the pastor of a newly formed congregation <br />currently meeting at the Alameda County Fairgrounds and that <br />membership now totals approximately 200 persons. He indicated <br />that the Fairgrounds will not continue to provide a place for <br />them to meet because of their scheduled calendar. He indicated <br />that the City's Rec. Dept, could not provide a place for them <br />to meet continuously either and that in checking with the School <br />District, they could not provide them a school in which to meet, <br />he believes because of the conflict of State and religion. <br />He stated that in using an industrial area there would not be <br />a conflict in parking because of the hours of operation of <br />business vs. the hours of operation of a church. <br />Commissioner Wilson asked Mr. Victor if there were any other <br />areas where cities allowed this. Mr. Victor stated that <br />
