PLANNING COMMISSION <br />June 22, 1983 <br />Page Eleven (revised 7/19/83) <br />Commissioner Getty indicated the newspapers should be <br />concerned about public opinion on newspaper racks. The <br />problem of the empty San Jose Mercury racks was raised. It <br />was indicated that someone from the Committee would contact <br />them when any rack is found. <br />William G. Kovac, 3124 Weymouth Court, expressed belief that <br />the newspapers have a right to sell their product and the City <br />has a right to control locations. <br />ThE: public hearing was closed. <br />Commissioner Lindsey indicated the City would work with the <br />Committee, but staff should start to prepare an ordinance <br />and then move it on to City Council. <br />Mr. Harris indicated an ordinance would be drafted which <br />would include the concerns of the newspapers and would be <br />presented to the Planning Commission in about six weeks. <br />General Plan and Rezoning Study for the 6.6 Acre Site at the <br />Southwest Corner of I-680 and Stoneridge Drive (Regis Homes Site). <br />This item was continued to the meeting of July 27, 1983. <br />TENTATIVE MAPS <br />There were none. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />There were none. <br />REFERRALS <br />There were none. <br />MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S INFORMATION <br />There was none. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned <br />at 10:18pm. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Robert J.
