MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
JULY 13, 1983
Page 8
Mr. Harris indicated that this conditional use permit application
is confined to the residential property and that it doesn't
really have anything to do with the church. He stated that
the Assistant City Attorney has instructed staff that conditions
of this use should be confined to the residence only and
that conditions relating it to the church would not be appropriate.
The public hearing was opened.
Reverend Willis Booth, 5655 Black Avenue, addressed the
Commission and concerns of Commissioner Getty relative to the
buses. He stated they will not park their buses on that
property. Reverend Booth had no problems with the conditions
imposed on the staff report.
The public hearing was closed.
A motion was made by Commissioner Getty, seconded by
Commissioner Doherty that required findings are made to grant
this conditional use permit and that case UP-83-18 be approved
subject to the conditions shown in the staff report of 7/13/83.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Lindsey,
Wilson and Chairman Jamieson
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
Resolution No. 2329 was entered and adopted approving case
UP-83-18 as motioned.
GP-83-4, Vintage Associates, Ltd.
Application of Vintage Associates, Ltd. to amend the general
plan land use designation on 2.2 acres located at the northeast
corner of Pico Avenue and Palomino Drive from "Commercial and
Offices" to "Commercial and Offices/High Density Residential."
A negative declaration of environmental impacts was also
considered.
Mr. Harris presented the staff report recommending approval.
Commissioner Doherty asked about the names Pico and Bernal.
Mr. Harris told the Commission that the proper term is now
Bernal Avenue. Commissioner Doherty asked when this will be
officially changed. Mr. Harris stated that they would work
with the shopping center on this so that they would have some time
to change stationary, etc.
The public hearing was opened.
-8-
_.. ___ ....._W~..__ _,---_~__ _ ~. _,. _ ., .. .. a.__ .._.._ _._ ...._ _.__ . ___ _. .. .. _ _. ._._ _ ....., __r. ~_...._
