MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
July 27, 1983
Page 3
Commissioner Getty felt the City Council could override any decision
made by the Planning Commission on this issue.
Chairman Jamieson asked if anyone else had any concerns with regard
to this case. There was no response and he asked Mr. Simmons to review
the changes made to the project since it had been reviewed by the
Planning Commission.
Mr. Simmons said they have removed the office and laundry facility from
the community facilities and they are now providing a washer and dryer
in each unit; they have increased the size of the pool 25%; all storage
is now on the patio/deck with 64 cubic feet for each unit. Commissioner
Wilson asked if there would be an entrance from the interior. Mr.
Simmons said upstairs will not have one. Mr. Simmons further said they
have reduced the number of units to 200 with 16.2 units per acre. They
increased the size of the one bedroom units from 550 to 660 sq. ft., they
have reserved up to 25% of the units for persons 60 years of age or older;
trash containers have been moved to minimize disturbance to residents.
They will use 30 feet as a guideline for the general growth of trees planted;
they will put a landscaped buffer, assuming they get approval from Zone 7,
along that right of way promising to make every effort to get that approval.
Commissioner Getty told Mr. Simmons that they have been very cooperative.
Chairman Jamieson asked how many buildings have been eliminated.
Mr. Simmons said five.
Dick Olmstead, architect referred to the plan and pointed out the location
of the changes. He said parking has been increased to the standards set
in the zoning ordinance.
Chairman Jamieson asked if there was any one else in the audience who
would like to address this issue. No one came forward.
Commissioner Doherty then made a motion that the Planning Commission has
reviewed the changes proposed and recommended approval of the changed
plan. This motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilson.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Lindsey, Wilson
and Chairman Jamieson
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: .None
Resolution No. 2335 was entered and adopted approving the changes for
Capital Shelter, case PUD-83-9, as motioned.
-3-
.. _ _.. r.. __ .. .
