MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
11/9/83
Page 20
Commissioner Lindsey felt this would be a matter of interpretation. Commissioner Doherty
further stated there is glare coming from solar heaters installed on roofs. He didn't want
this to be misconstrued as being a possible hazard to air navigation.
Commissioner Getty asked staff if they have talked to other cities. Mr. Harris indicated
staff has and staff's proposal is the standard response.
Commissioners Wilson and Getty felt another motion would be in order so that this matter
could be continued to 11/28/83 for further staff input.
A motion was then made to rescind the previous motions and bring this matter back before
the Planning Commission addressing Commissioner Doherty's concerns and Chairman Jamieson's
concerns relating to aircraft navigational interference and noise.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Motion: Commissioner Wilson
Second: Commissioner Lindsey
AYES: Commissioner Doherty, Getty, Lindsey, Wilson and Chairman Jamieson
NOES: None
This matter was then continued to 11/28/83 as motioned.
MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW
Mr. Harris presented the actions of the City Council at their November 8, 1983 meeting.
He stated they approved the Growth Management Element change and reapproved PUD-81-30.
Mr. Jamieson then announced there would be one meeting in December and that would
be December 14, 1983.
Mr. Harris stated there would be a meeting at 4:OOpm, November 21, 1983. He indicated
that a notice was sent out stating it would be at 2:OOpm but that the notice would be changed
to reflect 4:OOpm. Commissioner Wilson indicated he would not be present at this meeting.
Commissioner Lindsey asked the clerk to contact Mr. Arr igoni and ask him to attend.
Mr. Harris stated that the Park and Recreation Commission would be invited to attend
this meeting for the purposes of discussing parks in the downtown area.
Chairman Jamieson suggested that on the 14th of December the January calendar be reviewed
for the possibility of having one meeting during that month instead of two.
Chairman Jamieson asked staff to have all information possible presented to them before
a scheduled meeting as very often there is not sufficient time immediately preceding a meeting
to review material presented at that time. Mr. Harris indicated that he never tries to give
the Commission complicated matters in this fashion.
ADJOURNMENT
The Planning Commission meeting of November 9, 1983 was then adjourned at 12:15am to November
21, 1983, Monday afternoon, 4:OOpm.
Respectfully submitted
r
Robert J. Harris
Secretary
