MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
11/9/83
Page 19
He stated unless people set up RFI gear on their home computers and other things that are
in their homes, there is no way Statement 1 can be guaranteed. He stated that the FCC
cannot control this right now. He said the same thing happens with navigational equipment
and aircraft radios.
The public hearing was opened.
The public hearing was closed.
Commissioner Getty made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Lindsey that the negative
declaration prepared for case GP-83-10 be recommended for adoption inasmuch as approval
of GP-83-10 will have no significant adverse effect on the environment.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Getty and Lindsey
NOES: Commissioner Wilson and Chairman Jamieson
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
Resolution No. 2391 was entered and adopted recommending approval of the Negative Declaration
prepared for case GP-83-10 as motioned.
Commissioner Getty made a motion that case GP-83-10 be recommended for approval and
that City Council should adopt Subgoal No. 6, Quali ty Statement One, and Implementation
Program One as shown in the staff report. This motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilson.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Getty and Lindsey
NOES: Commissioner Doherty, Wilson and Chairman Jamieson
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
Brian Swift, suggested that another motion be made recommending denial of this project.
Commissioner Doherty moved denial of case GP-83-10 because it is not enforceable. Commissioner
Wilson also felt there should be more input. Commissioner Wilson seconded this motion.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Wilson, Chairman Jamieson
NOES: Commissioner Getty, Lindsey
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
Mr. Harris then asked the Commission if they had any suggestions for changes to the staff
proposal rather than just having the application denied.
Commissioner Doherty referred to Policy Statement No. 1, which talks about the City ensuring
no development approval which would create navigation hazards in the general referral area
with regard to electrical interference. Anything coming out of a persons home which creates
electrical interference can interfere with aircraft navigation.
-19-
.. ,_._,_._ _.... _ ..___._____T__.._ ~ ~..,..._ ~..__.. ,_ _. ___ _ _. _T.. _. _
