MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
November 28, 1983
Page 4
Mr. Swift stated that the Planning Commisison could initiate a rezoning to the
PUD-Office District just as they have done in other cases. The initiation could
include all of the Capital Conveyance Properties. He stated this is rarely
done but perfectly proper. He stated the owners of the shopping center, however,
have indicated that they plan to have the site rezoned to PUD and if this is
done the Planning Commission can add any reasonable conditions to that project
which are in the public interest.
Commissioner Wilson said the very least the Commission should do at this time
is to make it a matter of record that it is their intention that the property
only be used for offices and have absolutely no commercial uses on it.
The public hearing was closed.
A motion was made by Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner Lindsey that
the negative declaration prepared for case GP-83-12 be adopted inasmuch as project
approval would have no significant adverse effect on the environment.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Lindsey, Wilson and Chairman
Jamieson
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
Resolution No. 2396 was entered and adopted recommending approval of the negative
declaration prepared for case GP-83-12 as motioned.
A motion was then made by Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner Getty
that the 1.56 acres located on the north side of Valley Avenue just east of
the Hopyard Shopping Village be changed from "Public and Institutional" to "Commercial
and Offices" and that when the property is rezoned it will be rezoned to PUD-Office
rather than Commercial.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Lindsey, Wilson and Chairman
Jamieson
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
Resolution No. 2397 was entered and adopted recommending approval of the land
use change as motioned concerning case GP-83-12.
GP 83-9, City of Pleasanton
Application of the City of Pleasanton to amend the general plan land use designation
for the tier of lots adjacent to the western right-of-way line of Peters Avenue
between St. John Street and Bernal Avenue from "High Density Residential" to
"Commercial and Offices" or to any other designation deemed in the public interest.
A mitigated negative declaration of environmental impacts will also be considered.
Mr. Harris presented the staff report.
-4-
_... _ ,.._._ ._ .. , _____ . _ ,. __ _ _ __ _T _
