MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />November 28, 1983 <br />Page 10 <br />No one else addressed this matter and the public hearing was closed. <br />Commissioner Lindsey said they want a viable downtown area and referred to Danville, <br />Los Gatos, Saratoga and other area which are viable. He stated that the bank <br />for which he works had to meet parking requirements and the intent of the <br />ordinance is to assist old existing structures where parking is at a minimum. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Getty, seconded by Commissioner Doherty that <br />case RZ-83-8 be recommended for approval. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Getty and Lindsey <br />NOES: Commissioner Wilson and Chairman Jamieson <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />Resolution No. 2400 was entered and adopted recommending approval of case RZ-83-8 <br />as recommended in the staff report. <br />Chairman Jamieson stated he voted 'no' because he concurs with Commissioner <br />Wilson that it would set double standards. <br />GP-83-10, City of Pleasanton <br />Application of the City of Pleasanton to amend the Safety Element of the general <br />plan with regard to smoke, glare, lighting, electrical interference, and other <br />navigation hazards in flight zones near local aviation facilities. The Planning <br />Commission may recommend any action on this matter deemed in the public interest. <br />A negative declaration was recommended for approval at the November 9, 1983 <br />Planning Commission hearing. <br />This matter was continued to 12/14/83. <br />NEW BUSINESS Public Hearings <br />Tract 5224, Ponderosa Homes <br />Application of Ponderosa Homes to subdivide approximately 43 acres into 180 <br />single-family lots and a 5 acre park site located southeast of the confluence <br />of the Arroyo de la Laguna and Pleasanton Canal. Zoning for the property is <br />PUD (Planned Unit Development)-Medium Density Residential District. <br />Mr. Harris presented the staff report recommending approval. He indicated that <br />the proposal is in conformance with the approved PUD for the site. However, <br />no street names are shown on the map. He asked Ponderosa for a list of street <br />names and it was lost in the mails. He finally received a subsequent list only <br />today. The list must be circulated and reviewed by the County and postoffice <br />prior to being submitted to the Planning Commission for approval. He asked <br />the Commission to consider the map and add a requirement if they feel it is <br />necessary that the street names come back before the Commission at a later date. <br />Commissioner Lindsey asked if putting the map off would delay the developer. <br />Mr. Harris stated actually there isn't any reason why the map can't be processed. <br />-10- <br />_ _ _ ...._ .._.. _ __ ___r.___... ....__~ _._ _ _____ . _... _. _ ... _ _ _ <br />
