MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />12/14/83 <br />Page 9 <br />Mr. Harris asked the Commissioners if they wished to suggest a site which would <br />be more suitable for the developers mdoel home complex. <br />Commissioner Lindsey indicated west of Paseo Santa Cruz might be appropriate. <br />CommissionerGetty felt that across the park, on the west side of the first cul-de-sac <br />on the south side of Paseo Santa Cruz. <br />Chairman Jamieson asked Mr. Warnick about truck traffic. Mr. Warnick stated <br />that it is anticipated that resolution of the truck traffic problem will be made <br />and the utilization of Hansen will be as little as possible. Staff has indicated to <br />Ponderosa management that the situation must be corrected. Damaged streets <br />will have to be repaired by the developer before the project is accepted by the <br />City. They can go cross country with aggregate and use an alternate haul route. <br />Commissioner Wilson felt the developer should be able to put his model home sales <br />complex anywhere in their development they wish to. <br />Zion Fellowship -Request to have church related facilities iin the Valley Business <br />Park <br />Mr. Harris explained the staff report. <br />Mark Warmerdam, Zion Fellowship, 3133 Cotati Ct., Pleasanton, was present . <br />Commissioner Wilson asked how many sq. ft. the church would need. Mr. Warmerdam <br />stated they would use 5,000 sq. ft., with a three year lease and two year option. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty seconded by Commissioner Lindsey <br />that an application be initiated to allow churches in the Valley Business park and <br />other industrial PUDs as well. <br />GP-83-10, City of Pleasanton <br />Application of the City of Pleasanton to amend the Safety Element of the General <br />Plan with regard to smoke, glare, lighting electrical interference and other navigation <br />hazards in flight zones near local aviation facilities. The Planning Commission <br />may recommend any action on this matter deemed in the public interest. A negative <br />declaration was recommended for approval at the November 9, 1983 Planning Commission <br />hearing. <br />Mr. Harris presented the staff report. <br />Commissioner Doherty has read the staff report and taken note of the comments <br />of the various regulatory agencies involved. He made reference to the Wall Street <br />Journal, November 18, 1983 on this subject. It states in part that computers and <br />similar devices do have an effect. He supported the wordinig presented by staff. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Commissioner Lindsey <br />that case GP-83-10 be recommended for approval with wording suggested in the <br />staff report. <br />-9- <br />
