In the case where the eligible employee is <br /> deceased, the amount the City is obligated to pay shall be <br /> reduced by 1/2 (one half). If the spouse remarries, the <br /> obligation by the City shall terminate. <br /> The City reserves the right to meet and confer with the <br /> Union for the purposes of coordinating retired employees <br /> hospital and medical care in the event Federal or State <br /> legislation is implemented that effects retiree's medical <br /> insurance. <br /> The City will contact the health care providers and seek <br /> the opportunity to place retirees under the active plans. <br /> 17.3 Dental <br /> Effective January 1, 1989, the City shall contribute an <br /> amount not to exceed forty -five dollars ($45.00) per month <br /> per employee to provide dental care benefits under the <br /> City's present Banker's Life Nebraska plan for the <br /> individual employee and eligible dependents. Effective <br /> January 1, 1991 said maximum contribution shall increase <br /> to fifty -five dollars ($55.00) per month. <br /> 17.4 Life, Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance <br /> As soon as practical but no later than October 1, 1990, <br /> the City shall increase the present employee $10,000 life <br /> and $10,000 accidental death and dismemberment insurance <br /> coverage to $25,000 life and $25,000 accidental death and <br /> - 17 - <br />
