and one -half percent (7 -1/2 %) of the employee's annual salary, exclusive of any overtime. Such compensation shall be paid in two equal installments. Such payments are to be made on the first payday after December 1 and the first payday after June 1. Employees shall receive prorated holiday pay upon termination. Section 10. Acting officer Pay In the absence of the assigned officer, a Firefighter will act as a Lieutenant only on squad and patrol type vehicles. An employee assigned as an acting officer shall upon such assignment receive (in addition to his /her regular rate of pay), an amount equal to five percent (5 %) of his /her regular hourly rate for each hour so assigned. Use of acting officers will not be employed as a permanent method of filling vacant officer positions. Section 11. Acting Engineer's Pay An employee assigned as an acting engineer shall upon such assignment receive, (in addition to his /her regular rate of pay) an amount equal to five percent (5 %) of his /her regular hourly rate for each hour so assigned. Section 12. Squad Driver /Operator Pay Firefighters assigned as driver operators on the department's rescue squads shall be paid two and one -half percent (2 -1/2 %) of their regular hourly rate of pay for all hours so worked in said assignment. No payment shall be made for hours worked less than one -half a shift. Section 13. EMT Pay Employees in the classifications represented by the Union shall be paid EMT pay in the amount of $35.00 per month. Said amount shall be in addition to the regular rates of pay set forth in Section 5.1 of this Agreement. EMT pay shall represent full payment for all emergency medical services and protocols adopted by the City. Effective at the beginning of the first pay period in June 1993, said $35.00 payment shall be converted to one percent (1 %) of the regular rates of pay set forth in Section 5.1 of this Agreement. - 11 -
