MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
8/8/84
Page 2
Commissioner Innes asked Mr. Warnick if he could tell him the status of the
traffic assumptions with the consultants of the north Pleasanton area. Mr.
Warnick responded that they have discussed the procedures that are intended
to be used and they will have TJKM prepare a report on the subject. This
will be reviewed by Wilbur Smith and Associates. All traffic
engineers will be required to use the same assumptions. Mr. Warnick expected
to present the assumptions to both bodies.
Commissioner Innes asked Mr. Warnick if he had any personal knowledge of
PCBs being used in mercury or sodium vapor lights within the City. He has
been made aware of a problem in Mt. View where they have found old transformers
with PCBs. Mr. Warnick did not know of any transformers or lighting systems
with PCBs and stated that the vast majority of lights belong to PG&E with
a portion belonging to the City.
Chairman Doherty indicated he has received a letter from CPS requesting a
special meeting to be held prior to the 9/12/84 meeting to discuss a building
for AT&T. There is also a request by Pleasanton Garbage Service for a special
meeting. Mr. Harris indicated that staff has not even received the submittal
of Pleasanton Garbage and does not know what it consists of. If the issue
involved the garbage facility, a referral would have to be made to the County
Solid Waste Management Agency the Assistant City Attorney advised. An environmental
document would have to be circulated and that would take well over a month.
Chairman Doherty suggested that staff call Pleasanton Garbage 8/9/84 and
determine what the issues are and get the matter scheduled.
The Commissioners then discussed special meeting dates. After discussion,
Wednesday, August 22, 1984, 7:OOpm was decided upon.
Chairman Doherty referred to material distributed which was received from
the League of California Cities. He indicated that the material covers meeting
decorum, conflicts of interests and the Brown Act.
-2-
