MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />6/13/84 <br />Page 16 <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />AYES: Commissioners Getty, Innes, Lindsey, Wilson and <br />Chairman Doherty <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />Resolution No. 2483 was entered and adopted recommending approval of the mitigated <br />negative declaration prepared for case GP-84-6 as motioned. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Lindsey, seconded by Commissioner Getty that <br />the 24 acre shaded area shown on Exhibit "A" attached to the staff report be <br />changed from "Public and Institutional" and"General and Limited Industrial" <br />to "Public and Institutional", "Parks and Recreation" and "High Density Residential." <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />AYES: Commissioners Getty, Innes, Lindsey, Wilson and <br />Chairman Doherty <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />Resolution No. 2484 was entered and adopted recommending approval of the general <br />plan amendment as motioned. <br />GP-84-5, City of Pleasanton <br />Application of the City of Pleasanton to update the Housing Element of the <br />General Plan as required by §65588(a) of the Government Code. The update consists <br />of an examination of current housing needs, updated residential site inventory, <br />and a housing program evaluation. A negative declaration of environmental <br />impacts will also be considered. <br />Mr. Harris introduced Tom Passanisi of the Planning staff and indicated Mr. <br />Passanisi would present a summary of the Update. He further indicated that <br />a new page 35 had been distributed earlier to the Commission for substitution <br />in the Update. <br />Commissioner Innes asked if this recommendation is on the Element itself or <br />an actual change. Mr. Harris explained that in accordance with State Law an <br />Update must be furnished. This update is in compliance with State Statutes <br />and is somewhat of a status report. CommissionerInnes asked if it in anyway <br />precludes past recommendations of the Industrial General Plan Review Committee. <br />Mr. Harris stated it does not.Commissioner Innes asked about the ABAG statement <br />used in the Update. Mr. Harris explained. He indicated that in the Low and <br />Very Low income level housing the City is below their stated goals. ABAG figures <br />have to be included in the Housing Element under State law but there is no <br />penalty if the goals are not met. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />Vivian Kahn, Bay Area Counsel, presented a letter to the Commission.
