MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Apri 1 11, 1984 <br />Page 11 <br />Commissioner Getty felt that residential speed limits could control the <br />traffic factors. She was tired of issues like this returning because <br />streets such as Suttergate were made to connect and they should do so. <br />She supported Plan "A". She would like a foot bridge across Las Positas <br />to Sports Park. Cutting off proposed streets hurts the planned circulation system. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Lindsey, seconded by Commissioner Wilson <br />that the negative declaration prepared for case RZ-84-6 be recommended <br />for approval inasmuch as approval of case RZ-84-6 would have no significant <br />effect on the environment. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Lindsey, Wilson and <br />Jamieson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />Resolution No. 2454 was entered and adopted recommending approval of the <br />negative declaration prepared for case RZ-84-6 as motioned. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner Doherty <br />that Alternate Plan "D" be recommended for the City Council as the first <br />choice and Plan "A" as the second choice. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Lindsey and Wilson <br />NOES: Commissioners Getty and Chairman Jamieson <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />Resolution No. 2455 was entered and adopted recommending approval of case <br />RZ-84-6 as motioned. <br />Chairman Jamieson said he can't support "A" but could have supported "D" <br />by itself. <br />PUD-84-2, Howell Apartments <br />Application of EVH Partnership and the Roman Catholic Bishop of Oakland <br />for PUD zoning and development plan approval of a 296 unit multi-family <br />residential development project and related facilities on an approximately <br />12 acre site at the southwest corner of Bernal Avenue (extension) and <br />Sunol Boulevard. The property consists of approximately 7 acres currently <br />within the City and approximately 5 acres currently outside of the City <br />for which this aciton shall constitute a prezoning. The Planning Commission <br />may recommend any action on this matter consistent with the General Plan. <br />A negative declaration of environmental impacts will also be considered. <br />This matter was continued to 4/25/84. <br />-11- <br />
