Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority
Special Transportation for Seniors and People with Disabilities
On-time performance standards were developed using ADA guidelines, and focus on a pick-
up window of I S +/- minutes of stated times. "I'he PPS Task Force standard is that 90% of all
pick-ups shall occur within the 15 minute (+/-) window.
A completely missed trip is noted as a pick-up made more than one (1) hour late. The PPS
standard is not more that 24 missed trips per year.
On-time performance is tracked daily using Schedule-Pro software. Monthly and quarterly
reports are generated, which include on-time performance. City staff, Pleasanton Paratransit
Task Force Members, and the Human Services Commission, reviews these reports. ACT[A
staff and PAPCO also review this report semi-annually.
Describe your policies concerning the maximum time a rider may be on a vehicle. Indicate if
there is a maximum time, and if there is a standard for the percentage of trips that must be
completed within this maximum time.
Responseā¢
The maximum time a rider may be on a vehicle is one (1) hour. As part of the scheduling
software criteria, PPS established a one (1) hour maximum ride time.
What are your policies for reserving trips? Describe these for each type of trip below. What
advance notice is required or allowed? Arc there limits on availability`?
Individual Trip Reservation -Subscriptions (Standing Orders):
Individual Trip Reservations - A trip can be scheduled up to two (2) weeks in advance. Most
individuals reserve round trips with PPS. Rides are reserved on a first-call, first-served basis.
Over 300 riders (on a regular basis) use PPS, so the further in advance a trip is reserved, the
easier it is for the dispatcher to schedule an appropriate time.
Reservations for subscription (or standing orders) arc very limited, and include primarily
Adult Day Care and Dialyses clients. Approximately 17% of the annual riders are subscribed.
Individual Trip Reservation -Same Day Trips:
Due to service demands, PPS is not able to make same-day reservations.
Group/Program Trips:
PPS does not provide group trips.
X'.APara[rnnsit~Annual Program Application Cover FY0708 March 27, 2007.doc
Page 7 of 20
