12
THE CITY OF
i
~ ~ r ~ ~~. u
PL£~S~4NTONo
CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
May 1, 2007
Parks and Community Services
TITLE: AUTHORIZATION TO SUBMIT FY 2007/2008 APPLICATIONS FOR
ALAMEDA COUNTY MEASURE B FUNDS AND TRANSPORTATION
DEVELOPMENT ACT (TDA) ARTICLE 4.5 FUNDS FOR THE
PLEASANTON PARATRANSIT SERVICE
SUMMARY
The Transportation Development Act (TDA) provides for the disbursement of
transportation funds through the Alameda County Metropolitan Transportation
Commission (MTC) for community transit services. Funding is allocated from TDA
Article 4.5 and Alameda County Measure B (dedicated sales tax) funds. Eligible
agencies are required to file annual applications for allocation with MTC and the
Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority (ACTIA). For FY 2007/2008, the
City's projected allocation is $151,548 ($60,887 TDA; $90,661 Measure B). These funds
will be used to offset the proposed FY 2007/2008 Pleasanton Paratransit Service
budget of $635,835.
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council adopt a Resolution authorizing the Director of Parks and
Community Services to submit FY 2007/2008 applications for Alameda County Measure
B Funds from the Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority (ACTIA), and
Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 4.5 funds from the Metropolitan
Transportation Commission (MTC).
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
Should the City receive a Measure B allocation ($90,661) and TDA Article 4.5 funds
($60,887) for FY 2007/2008, the net result would be a 24% savings for the proposed
PPS budget of $635,835.
