7 <br />THE CITY OF <br />fl ~~ ~ <br />~~~~1' <br />~ i ~ m: m ..~ l u g <br />~L£~S~4NTONe <br />CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />May 1, 2007 <br />Economic Development <br />TITLE: APPROVE FUNDING FOR TRI-VALLEY BUSINESS COUNCIL <br />SUMMARY <br />For several years, the City of Pleasanton has allocated funds to specific Tri-Valley <br />Business Council programs and initiatives that support regional economic development. <br />This fiscal year, the Business Council is requesting a $25,000 contribution to support <br />focused business attraction and retention efforts, including implementation of the action <br />initiatives proposed in the Tri-Valley Innovation Network Report. Among these initiatives <br />are the development of a Regional Marketing Strategy Action Team, an Innovators <br />Network Website Action Team, and an Innovators Forum series. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve the allocation of $25,000 to the Tri-Valley Business Council to support <br />implementation of the programs and initiatives of the Tri-Valley Innovation Network. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />If the City Council approves an allocation of $25,000 to the Tri-Valley Business Council <br />for this fiscal year, there are sufficient funds in the FY 2006-2007 Operating Budget. <br />
