MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
Page 15
Jerry Kirstine, 4988 Mohr Avenue was at the 1979 meeting where the condition
was imposed on the rezoning. He felt that this was the end of the matter.
He also felt a guaranty was given to the homeowners.
Barbara Jones, 4868 Mohr Avenue, spoke against the access to Suttergate.
Commissionerpoherty stated that 250 people have reviewed this matter in the
form of the Industrial General Plan Review Committee. He stated they have
recognized the need for access to Sports Park and he concurs with them 100%.
Commissioner Lindsey supported an initiation of a revision so that they could look at
the ordinance governing the rezoning of this property.
Chairman Jamieson would support some sort of access but would not support
opening up of Sutter Gate. He felt the City had to live up to the guaranty
which it made.
A motion was made by Commissionerpoherty, seconded by Commissioner Lindsey
to support the staff report and initiate an application to change Ordinance
No. 885 which would remove the prohibition against access to the sportspark.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Lindsey, Wilson
and Chairman Jamieson
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
Report on Modifications to Vorelco Mini Storaee
Mr. Harris presented the staff report. The Council voted to modify the ordinance
approving the development by removing the second floor of the southernmost
building and requiring all of the buildings to have the rather than metal
roofs. Since these issues were not discussed by the Commission when they
considered the case, the matter must be referred back to the Commimssion
for review before final Council adoption.
Mr. Lee Topham addressed the Commission stating that a major concern were
the size of the trees to be planted. Commissionerpoherty asked Mr. Topham
if they have increased the size of the trees proposed. Mr. Topham said they
have increased the trees from 15 gallon to 24" box material in selected areas.
Charles Hare explained their proposed landscaping plan. Commissioner Wilso
asked about the recovery strip and Mr. Hare explained. Materials were presented
for the Commission's review. They supported the landscaping, proposed materials
and elevation of the building as proposed.
ADJOURNMENT=
There being no further business, the Planning Commission meeting was adjourned
at 1:55am by Chairman William Jamieson.
Re pectfully submitted
l/"
Robert J. Harris,
Secretary
