Minutes
Planning Commission
1/25/84
Page 9
Commissioner Wilson felt that it was so close to a residential neighborhood that
an annual review was necessary. Mr. Harris pointed out that if Mr. Cross violates
the conditions of his use permit he is subject to revocation.
Commissioner Getty felt strongly that this use permit should not be reviewed again
by the Planning Commission for the remaining three years.
Commissioner Lindsey felt it was unfair to review a business use every year. He
concurred that if the property or business should change hands, the business should
be reviewed, but not as long as Mr. Cross is the owner/operator.
Commissioner Lindsey made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Getty that UP-82-24
will be in effect for another three years without review as long as Mr. Cross is the
owner/operator.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Lindsey and Chairman
Jamieson
NOES: Commissioner Wilson
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
Resolution No. 2425 was entered and adopted extending UP-82-24 for another three
years without annual review as long as James Cross is the owner operator of that
business.
MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S REV IEW
Chairman Jamieson acknowledged receipt of material furnished by staff relating
to promises made to the neighbors to the eastof the Hopyard Center concerning
parking.
Commissioner Wilson said if at all possible, he would prefer there would not be a
second Planning Commission meeting in February or March. He could see no point
in having the second meeting when so many items were continued. Mr. Harris stated
that the continuances on this agenda, for the most part, are not the fault of the
applicant but rather with the delay in receiving traffic studies for the various projects.
Chairman Jamieson then asked Mr. Harris if the staff could get by with only one
meeting. Mr. Harris stated that it is now known that the Planning Commission meets
twice a month and applicants are advised of this. Commissioner Getty felt it better
to have two short meetings a month rather than one long one. Commissioner Doherty
suggested one meeting in February and see what happens. It was then agreed that
Mr. Harris would let Chairman Jamieson know the items on the agenda to be scheduled
for the second meeting in February.
Commissioner Getty commended Chandler Lee, Consultant, for the fine report of
the General Plan Review Committee.
COMMUNICATIONS ,REFERRALS
There were none.
-9-
___..__-_ ~._..._.___ _____ . _.______.. _._.____._ _ _.~_____ _.. _ _ ___~._. _ .__ ._ _. __._.. _ _ ..___ _ __T _ _ __
