Minutes <br />Planning Commission <br />1/25/84 <br />Page 2 <br />PUD-83-21, Vorelco/Integrated Storage Corp. <br />Application of Vorelco of California, Inc. and Integrated Storage Corporation for <br />PUD (Planned Unit Development)-development plan approval for an approximately <br />70,000 sq. ft. mini-storage facility on an approximately 2.5 acre site located at <br />the southeast corner of Stoneridge Drive and I-680. Zoning for the property is PUD <br />(Planned Unit Development)-General and Limited Industrial District. A mitigated <br />negative declaration of environmental impacts will also be considered. <br />Mr. Harris presented the staff report recommending approval of the project. He <br />indicated that the applicants have upgraded their plans from their original submittal <br />at the request of staff. He indicated that staff is asking for ground cover to be <br />put in the 30' setback area designated for Caltrans. <br />Commissioner Getty asked if the applicant has indicated what type of signing they <br />would like to have. Mr. Harris indicated they have not requested signing but would <br />only need identification at their entrance. <br />Colors were discussed between staff and the Commission. Commissioner Getty <br />asked if earthtones as mentioned in the report would include the color of the Dillingham <br />Pipe facility. Mr. Harris responded that it would not be. <br />Commissioner Getty asked if the applicants would be contributing to North Pleasanton. <br />Mr. Harris said they would but was not sure how the charges would be apportioned <br />as this particular business generates a very minimal amount of traffic. <br />Chairman Jamieson then asked about the materials for the roof. Mr. Harris explained. <br />He indicated that various other structures throughout town have the same material <br />while different in color. <br />Chairman Jamieson addressed the future off-ramp at Stoneridge and I-680 and asked <br />when it would be completed. Mr. Warnick stated it is projected to be completed <br />1986-87. Chiarman Jamieson then asked who conducted the survey regarding traffic <br />generated by Integrated Storage. Mr. Harris responded that it was furnished by <br />the applicant and done by a firm in Texas. Chairman Jamieson asked if the company <br />is an independent one or an affiliate. Mr. Harris stated that it was done at the <br />request of the applicant <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />Lee Topham, 1617 Forest View, Burlingame, represented the application. He gave <br />a slide presentation depicting a storage facility in Foster City which would be very <br />similar to their proposal for Pleasanton. Mr. Topham then presented other illustrative <br />material to the Commission and audience. <br />Chairman Jamieson then brought up the issue of proposed trees for the development. <br />Mr. Topham stated there would be more trees in the Pleasanton facility than that <br />in Foster City and that they are working with Mr. Harris to provide an adequate <br />number. <br />Commissioner Wilson asked the setback of the facility to Stoneridge Drive. Mr. <br />Topham indicated on the illustrative and stated the project is 40' from the curb <br />line. Commissioner Wilson then asked if the setback is actually 5' from the property <br />line in that the other 35' is owned by the City.
