Minutes
Planning Commissioi
August 28, 1985
to the sidewalk. 30" fencing in the landscaped area is good. A
6 foot high fence may be placed in the landscaping and would be
acceptable if it is for security. They understand the need for
fencing around the property.
The public hearing was closed.
Commissioner Innes reiterated concerns with a 6 foot high wall.
Many parks in the City have houses next to them with no fencing.
Commissioner Hoyt indicated that Kottinger Park is right next to
senior housing and presents no problem. Commissioner Wellman
stated that this is true but that park is not a play field.
Commissioner Innes stated that the park in Smoketree Commons is
not supposed to be designed for organized sports, but rather used
for free play.
Commissioner Inner moved that the area defined as 6' wrought iron
be changed to 30" wrought iron; the area now defined as 6'
precast be 48" wrought iron; the 8' precast be left 8'.
Commissioner Michelotti asked if Commissioner Innes would change
his motion concerning the 48" wrought iron fence to allow it to
be 6'. Commissioner Inner then amended his motion as suggested.
Commissioner Michelotti seconded the motion.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Hoyt, Inner and Michelotti
NOES: Commissioners Wellman and Vice Chairman Lindsey
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
Resolution No. 2699 was entered and adopted recommending approval
of the modification of PUD-84-13 to reflect that the area now
defined as 6' wrought iron shall be 30" wrought iron, the area
now defined as 6' precast shall be 6' wrought iron, the area now
defined as 8' precast shall be left at 8' precast.
