Minutes
Planning Commission
September 24, 1986
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Hoyt,
Chairman Lindsey
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
Innes, Michelotti, Wellman and
Resolution No. 2841 was entered and adopted recommending approval
of the development agreement for Koll Bernal Avenue Associates.
Traffic Computer Report
Mr. Quaglia presented the staff report.
Commissioner Innes stated that there appears to be no difference
in the traffic counts for November 1985 and April 1986. He felt
there should have been an increase in ADT during this time.
Discussion ensued concerning computer counts vs. actual physical
counts. Commissioner Innes suggested that the November physical
count be delayed until such time as the computer can give ADT.
Mr. Quaglia indicated that the empirical data is being stored and
work has to be done to retract the information from the computer.
Commissioner Innes felt the only way the information can be
validated is for the physical and computer count to be done at
the same time. If the computer is not ready to do this in
November, he would suggest it be put off until such time as both
of these counts can be done simultaneously.
Commissioner Michelotti wanted to make sure that the computer
computed peak hour traffic to make sure the peaks are as
discussed.
PUD 81 30 36D, Martin Company/Prudential Insurance Company
Application of the Martin Company and the Prudential Insurance
Company of America for design review approval to construct an
approximately 258,300 sq. ft. five-building, multi-tenant office
complex to be located on an approximately 18.7 acre site, located
generally in the area south of Stoneridge Drive, east of willow
Road, and west of Hacienda Drive.
Commissioner Innes said he looked at the building on First Street
in San Jose. He had no problems at all with the architecture of
the structure, but did not feel the brick chosen will match the
balance of the development. Commissioner Innes asked if the
staff could work with the developer to change the brick.
Mr. Quaglia pointed out that the brick shown is the brick the
developer wants to go with.
Commissioner Michelotti said that if there was any concern with
the material the project was to have been brought back for
review. She shared the same concern but was not able to get down
to San Jose to see the building.
- 8 -
_._ r
