AGENDA <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />City Council Chambers <br />200 Old Bernal Avenue <br />Wednesday, September 24, 1986 <br />8:oopm <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The Planning Commission meeting of September 24, 1986 was called <br />to order at 9:35pm by Larry Lindsey, Chairman. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Commissioners Present: Joyce Berger, Brian Hoyt, John Innes, <br />Sharrell Michelotti, Kaye Wellman and <br />Chairman Larry Lindsey <br />Staff Members Present: Brian W. Swift, Director of Planning and <br />Community Development; Lawrence Lew, <br />Assistant Planner; Tom Quaglia, Assistant <br />Planner; Robert T. Okamura, Assistant <br />City Engineer; and Shirley McDougall, <br />Recording Secretary <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The Minutes of September 3, 1986 were approved as submitted. <br />MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE <br />PLANNING COMMISSION ON ANY ITEM WHICH IS NOT ALREADY ON THE <br />AGENDA <br />Bob Mrzywka, 6710 Calle Altamira, presented a petition with 186 <br />signatures referencing Removal of Existing Riparian Zone Trees <br />and Shrubs, on the South Bank of the Arroyo Del Valle, Between <br />Valley Avenue and I-680 (Koll Business Park). <br />Mr. Mrzywka cited the following concerns: <br />1. This area was unique riparian habitat with dense, high wild <br />growth. <br />2. Residents were not notified that the mature trees and other <br />high riparian growth were to be removed. <br />3. We are distressed by the drastic alteration of the riparian <br />habitat. <br />4. About 35 adjacent Homeowners paid premiums of approximately <br />$10,000 each ($350,000 total) for their lots next to this <br />riparian habitat and many have enjoyed living there <br />approximately 12 years. <br />- 1 - <br />_ ... _.. ___._. _ _ ._ ., T <br />
