Zoning for the property is PUD (Planned
Unit Development)-Commercial District.
Mr. Swift presented the staff report recommending approval of
this modification. He presented a handout with a proposed
revised condition lb.
The building did not have window shutters originally. They were
added by Pleasanton Glass in 1970. Chairman Wilson asked about
the 19 parking places. Mr. Swift stated that since the driveway
has been relocated, there are now 14 parking spaces.
Commissioner Innes then inquired about Condition lb. Mr. Swift
stated that somewhere in the parking lot Haps restaurant will be
allocated 5 parking spaces. Mr. Innes felt the wording of this
condition was contradictory and suggested it be changed.
Chairman Wilson asked about parking allocations for this
development as it was his understanding Haps was not part of the
original consideration. Mr. Swift stated that land swaps and
agreements have bonnsitecheFourteenpparkingtspacestareive parking
spaces somewhere
exclusively for Judge Gale.
The public hearing was opened.
Keith Ferris, 4625 First Street, represented the developers.
Haps has rear access through the rear of the subject property.
If this access was cut off it would be disastrous for Haps.
Mr. Ferris reviewed the proposed color of the station with the
Commissioners. He had a wood sample off of the building showing
the original yellow. He has worked in concert with the Planning
staff on how to restore this building to its original condition.
The Pleasanton Museum has allowed them to observe pictures of the
old station. The original pictures do not have shutters. They
are in perfect agreement with the Planning staff concerning the
- 5 -
