She inquired if be was <br />opposed to any type of gas station there or only a 24 hour one <br />He responded that he would prefer it were somewhere else, but <br />primarily he was opposed to one that sold alcoholic beverages' <br />Phil Youmger, 5260 Ridgewood Way' stated that he haF a service <br />station and reiterated the reles that he Mad to follow: no beer <br />and: wine; no fast foods; and no 24 hour operation. He stated <br />the + his facility was only 4/10 of a mile away. He said he had <br />serioud concerns with the sale of beer and wine because of the <br />4:act that between 5 and 10 inmates a week were released. <br />Chairman Lindsey asked Mr' Younger if it is Exxon's current <br />policy to have 24 hour gas station service reearAlese of <br />location. Mr. Younger said that it is. <br />Commissioner Berger asked staff to address the differences in <br />regard to what is allowed as far as Mr. Younger's service <br />statio., and the Hopyard station. Mr. Quaglia stated that the <br />difference is in the zoning; Mr. Younger's site is zoned <br />Neighborhood Commerczal which does prohibit auto washes, food <br />nmrt operation. He stated that Exxon (Mr. Younger) does have a <br />proposal for the staff and they will be reviewing any possible <br />rCiz�nlnQ for that area. <br />Johr Fereri, 6330 Laura Lane, spoke in favor of the project. <br />He stated that he has been involved in the planning of the <br />project for the last 7 years. He did not share any of tue <br />aforementioned concerns and urged support of the project as the <br />staff recommended- <br />RoberL Eai3ey° developer, discussed the new jail constrection <br />with its ensaind traffic. configuration.
