Minutes
Planning Commission
June 24, 1987
A motion was made by Commissioner Michelotti, seconded by
Commissioner Mahern to deny Case PUD-87-10 for the reasons
stated.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Mahern, Michelotti and Chairman
Lindsey
NOES: Commissioner Tarver
ABSENT: Commissioners Berger and Hoyt
ABSTAIN: None
Resolution No. PC-87-68 was entered and adopted denying Case
PUD-87-10 as motioned.
The applicant was advised they have 15 days in which to appeal
this decision to the City Council.
NEW BUSINESS - Public Hearings
PUD-82-10-6M, Black
Application of Thomas Black for a major modification to an
approved development plan for a residential subdivision to modify
the permitted building envelope for an existing parcel, located
at 4 Red Feather Court. Zoning for the property is PUD (Planned
Unit Development) - Low Density Residential District.
Mr. Quaglia presented the staff report which recommends denial of
this application.
The public hearing was opened.
Jay Frechette, 1369 Spring Court, Sunnyvale, represented the
Black's and stated that they are back east at a family wedding.
The Black's did not want their application continued because they
are anxious to get construction underway. Further the Black's
will be getting title to their property in the next day or so.
Mr. Frechette reviewed the model of the project depicting
topography, trees, proposed house site, etc. He reviewed all of
the proposed changes to the approved PUD and reasons for them.
Mr. Paul Frechette presented photographs of the ridgeline with
relationship to the houses. Tn his opinion, the house will be
lost along the skyline. Mr. Frechette maintained that the
difference between 4,000', 6,000' on 250,000 sq. ft. of land is
insignificant.
Chairman Lindsey asked if either the Freshette's or the Black's
made a presentation to the residents of the area. Mr. Frechette
stated that someone who doesn't understand slopes would have a
difficult time understanding their proposal. Mrs. Black wanted
the model prior to the meeting and the model has just been
completed.
- 7 -
