MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />City Council Chambers <br />200 Old Bernal Avenue <br />Wednesday, April 22, 1987 <br />8:oopm <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The Planning Commission meeting of April 22, 1987 was called to <br />order at 8:OOpm by Chairman Larry Lindsey. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited. <br />un r.r. ~ a r.r. <br />Commissioners Present: Joyce Berger, Brian Hoyt, <br />Marcelline Mahern, Sharrell Michelotti, <br />Ben Tarver and Chairman Larry Lindsey <br />Commissioners Absent: None <br />Staff Members Present: Brian W. Swift, Director of Planning and <br />Community Development; Gary Leach, <br />Assistant Director of Public Works; and <br />Shirley McDougall, Recording Secretary <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the March 25, 1987 and April 8, 1987 meetings were <br />approved as submitted, with Commissioner Michelotti requesting <br />the April 8, 1987 minutes changed to revise Page 2 Growth <br />Management Policies, first paragraph, to read "With some 1500 <br />units seeking growth management approval within the last six <br />months under the present low income exemption program, it is <br />becoming more and more difficult for her to consider these <br />projects on their planning merit alone, knowing that the approval <br />is an exemption. If the Council's intent of obtaining affordable <br />housing is to do so as quickly as possible when the opportunity <br />represents itself, then it should be so stated and the exemption <br />policy clarified. Given her concerns she recommended that the <br />City Council reconsider its current program regarding exemptions <br />under the growth management policy and that clarification be made <br />in the form of a General Plan amendment. If this is supported, <br />she further recommended that a j-oint session between Council, <br />Planning Commission and Staff be held prior to action being taken <br />on current projects seeking a low income growth management <br />exemption." <br />Commissioner Tarver reported that the vote on PUD-81-30-39D was <br />omitted from the Minutes. <br />- 1 - <br />_ ... ,, <br />
