Minutes
Planning Commission
3/2/587
George Pereira, 5591 San Juan Way, said that at the present time
they in are in the process of considering whether or not to
continue the security system they have employed because of lack
of enforcement of loitering laws.
Commissioner Innes asked if this impact has had a negative effect
on the businesses and if so the dollar loss should be taken into
consideration when the conditional use permit for the Game
Station is considered for renewal.
Bill McClenda, Willowren Lane, an employee of the Game Station
(not a representative), felt closing the Game Station is not the
answer. There needs to be enforcement of the loitering and
parking laws. Mr. McClenda said most of the kids are nice even
though one may not think so from their appearance.
Chris Kuntz, 2515 Skimmer Court, an employee of the Game Station,
said some kinds play the pinball machines and other play the
electronic games, and closing of the Game Station would not
eliminate all of the problems.
Stephen Rutledge, stated there is loitering also around Perry's
Liquors and Jack in the Box.
Commissioner Innes asked if the parking could be posted for 15
minutes. Mr. Rutledge said the cars would just be moved and
relocated.
Commissioner Michelotti and Mr. McClenda what the age group of
the patrons of the Game Station is. Mr. McClenda said the ages
range from 14 to 23 with an average of probably 16-17.
Chairman Lindsey asked if loitering effected the Game Station.
The speakers answered that it does effect the patronage of the
Game Station.
Commissioner Hoyt thanked the young speakers for coming down to
this meeting.
Jack Hovingh, Muirwood Drive, felt the solution would be to turn
the Game Station in to a donut shop.
COMMUNICATIONS
There was none.
RF.FF.RI?nr_e
There was none.
MATTERS FOR COMMISSIONS INFORMATION
There was none.
- 17 -
