Minutes
Planning Commission
3/2/587
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Berger, Hoyt, Innes, Michelotti and
Chairman Lindsey
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
Resolution No. PC-87-35 was entered and adopted approving the
draft resolution as motioned.
Report on Status of Pleasanton Station
Chairman Lindsey asked if trash enclosure were part of the
Pleasanton Station approval. All other projects have trash bins
enclosed. Mr. Swift said a standard condition requires
enclosures and staff will check on this item and report back.
Chairman Lindsey urged that the developer be held firm to the
rules and conditions imposed upon the project.
Report on Deer Oaks, Lot 16
After reading the staff report, Commissioner Innes said he
believed if someone was in their backyard and cars were visible
on Foothill Road homeowners would put up an interior fence to
block this negative view.
Report on Game Station
Mr. Swift reported that the Game Station has applied to renew
their conditional use permit which is scheduled to be heard
April 22, 1987.
Chairman Lindsey said he would like to know from the Police
Department what enforceable conditions can be imposed to help the
Police Department clean-up the neighborhood and eliminate the
drug problems, etc.
Sergeant Jim Balch, Pleasanton Police Department, would like to
see an ordinance pertaining to traffic, speeding and reckless
driving be enforced. In 1980 signs were posted at all entrances
off of Santa Rita Road but they do not cover Perry's Liquors and
the Game Station. Areas of the ordinance need fine-tuning.
Chairman Lindsey asked when the conditional use permit is
considered, a condition could be placed on it that 'no loitering'
signs be required. Commissioner Innes stated the City has to
make sure Mr. Cupples posts proper signs. Sergeant Balch said
with five property owners, all entrances have to be posted on
both Valley Avenue and Santa Rita Road. If only three are
posted, the laws cannot be enforced because there is access to
the other two. Mr. Swift said staff will have to look very
closely at the application to see that some of the problems are
solved and if they can't be the staff will not support the
application.
- 16 -
