understood that a deep cut would be made into her property to
make the slope and wondered if this were true.
Mr. Feldberg said it was intended to make a cut into her
property if permission were given, but if not they would have to
pile-drive.
Ms. Miller expressed concern that her land would be devalued;
that this would be a great place for kids to meet and vandalism
and drugs would create a problem. She was concerned about
security in her home being in such close proximity to the
project. She was also concerned that she has limited water from
a spring and felt that her water supply would be greatly
affected. She said that she has sign income from a corner
location and felt this, too, would be affected. She felt fire
danger would be greater; was concerned about the easement, her
mail box and the traffic situation that would ensue.
Commissioner Berger asked Mr. Feldberg to point out on the model
where Ms. Miller's home is. He did so, noting that the
residence is about iac~ yards from the setback and about its-20'
above it.
E~ill Kolb, 11393 Dublin Canyon Road, said that he and his father
own the adjacent property to the proposed project. He expressed
concern that a 28' cut is planned to take place on his property
and was opposed to that. He was greatly concerned that his and
his sister's water supply would be severely impacted. He
thought water pipes would have to be run through his property
which he was ^pposed to. He felt his property would be devalued
by the large building in front. He was opposed to the project
and felt that a better plan could be had.
Mr. Christian returned to the podium. He said this was the
first time that he had heard opposition regarding the cut on the
adjacent property. However, he said the building could still be
built by utilizing pile driving. He appreciated the comments
and concerns expressed tonight regarding the land and the water,
but a study has been done which indicated the appropriateness of
the project. The engineers said they could develop the land and
it would not greatly affect the adjacent homeowners. However,
they are more than willing to work with the homeowners in every
way possible even though specialists have given them the
go-ahead.
The public hearing was closed.
Commissioner Hovingh asked Mr. Swif t if the project was
conditioned to the completion of Stoneridge interchange.
Mr. Swift said that according to City Council interpretation
Stoneridge interchange was under construction. Commissioner
Hovingh felt it should be conditioned to completion. Mr. Swift
felt this would not be feasible.
Page 14
