He further described the bands and showed a sample of the color <br />and material to be used. <br />Commissioner Mahern recommended a blending of colors to be used <br />to go along with the existing building. Mr. Munson noted that <br />the existing colors are black and white: they felt it would be <br />more attractive to add some warmth and excitement in the colors <br />they had chosen. <br />Mr. Munson showed a color board, noting that sunlight will <br />change the effect of the color. He felt it should be seen on <br />the actual project to get the right perspective. Chairman <br />Micheletti recommended painting several panels to see if the <br />color was appropriate before doing the whole building. <br />Commissioner Mahern asked if Buildings A and D have a stucco <br />finish. Mr. Munson said they Iook like stucco but it is <br />actually something easier to work with. Mr. Swift said staff felt cypress trees were appropriate <br />as a focal point but did not give enough shade in a parking lot. <br />Chairman Micheletti noted that she still liked the grillwork. <br />Commissioner Hoyt discussed the use of foliage with Mr. Munson. <br />They discussed the signage in connection with the trellises. <br />Commissioner Hoyt said he favored low growing shrubs. <br />Commissioner Berger e~:pressed concern about the back facade of <br />the building and how high the elevation was. Mr. Munson showed <br />on the rendering where the landscaping would be; the grading and <br />the height of the building. He added that trellises would also <br />be on the bact~ of the building to add to the overall effect. <br />Commissioner Hovingh wandered whether vertical stripes would be <br />on the columns. Mr. Munson said there would be vertical sines <br />on the bands. Commissioner Hovingh thought the lines should be <br />done in a darker color; Mr. Munson discussed this with him. <br />Nona Leone returned to the podium. <br />Commissioner Nouingh asked Ms. Leone how she viewed the project. <br />She said she sees it as a subregional project. <br />Commissioner Mahern asked if there would be shops such as <br />McCulloughs.
