The Board acknowledged these changes.
MATTERS_INITIATED_9Y_COMMISSION_MEMBERS
Brian Hoyt noted that over the years a number of apartment
houses have been built in the downtown Pleasanton area. He felt
that some do not fit the architecture of the area and
recommended to staff that they inform developers of the style
the City desires in order to maintain the old town look. Mr.
Swift said this has already been done.
OLD BUSINESS=_Public Hearings
PUD_-90-_ib-_3D1_Pactel_Proeerties
Application of Pactel Properties for development plan approval
to construct a multi-building, approximately 103,160 square foot
retail commercial complex to be located on an approximately 9.75
acre site generally in the area bounded by Hopyard Road,
Stoneridge Drive, Franklin Drive, and Johnson Drive. Zoning for
the property is PUD (Planned Unit Development) -
IndustriallCommercial and Offices District.
Mr. Swift presented the staff report and requested the
Commission give staff input on the graphic elements of the
project. He Hated that the proposed graphic elements are
substantially different than the styles commonly used in the
North Pleasanton area. He added that staff is concerned about
the project`s ability to compliment surrounding commercial
complexes.
The public hearing was opened.
Nona Leone, Vice President of Pactel, represented the
application. A large scale model along with numerous colored
renderings were displayed for the Commission. She felt the
project portrayed was of high quality architecture and painted
out that the proposed palm trees were in keeping with the
locale. She said the project managers were with her tonight to
answer any further questions and to give further detail.
Page 2
