It was his feeling that it is <br />the manager of a neighborhood center that ensures whether it <br />will be well-run or not. He had experienced a poor manager at <br />FComley's who allowed skateboarding, bicycling, etc. Vandalism <br />had been experienced there which also kept the police busy. He <br />said he was neither for nor against the project but was trying <br />to paint out to the Commission what can happen at neighborhood <br />centers that are not well-run and protected. <br />Mr. k;antor returned to the podium and addressed any concerns <br />that were expressed. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />Commissioner Tarver wondered why more of the Downtown <br />Rssociation was not in attendance at this meeting to give their <br />input. He had some concerns about the project, in particular, <br />the site. He was in favor of keeping it zoned as it is. He was <br />not sure whether it would be in competition with the downtown <br />merchants or not. He concluded that he was not in support of <br />the project. <br />Commissioner Hoyt agreed with <br />inappropriate. He was not <br />realignment of Del Valle and <br />affect the project.
